The University of Veterinary Sciences Brno was founded on December 12, 1918. It was the first university founded in the newly formed Czechoslovak Republic. Two main areas of the university: general veterinary medicine and another specialty 鈥 food hygiene.
is one of two faculties of the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno. Currently, the faculty has more than 700 graduate students and 90 doctoral students and provides comprehensive education in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of infectious and non-infectious animal diseases, as well as basic knowledge in food hygiene of animal origin. The term of study is six years.
The Faculty of Veterinary Hygiene and Ecology was established on July 4, 1990 with the aim of training specialists in the field of veterinary hygiene and ecology, animal protection and welfare, food safety and quality, as well as veterinary aspects of gastronomy.
The education is carried out on a 5-year master鈥檚 program in the specialty 鈥淧harmaceuticals鈥.
