Secretary General of the IMO to open the celebration

We are pleased to announce that Mr Efthimios Mitropoulos, the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, will open the celebrations to mark World Maritime Day.
Mr Efthimios Mitropoulos is the head of the IMO, the only United Nations agency based in the UK. The IMO is primarily concerned with maritime safety and security and the prevention of marine pollution from ships.
